There are various types of clinical study: clinical observational studies, clinical interventional studies (clinical trials) and combinations of these. NorCRIN focuses mainly on clinical trials. Clinical trials are studies in humans with the primary objective of evaluating the safety and efficacy of pharmacological and nonpharmacological interventions for use as prevention or treatment, in diagnosis or to alleviate the symptoms of a disease.
