A Contract Research Organisation (CRO) (also Clinical Research Organisation) is a private company that undertakes to conduct clinical research for academia or the pharmaceutical and biotechnology industries in connection with trials of medicinal products and medical device studies.
It is a requirement that a CRO meets all established international requirements and general ethical rules in connection with the research.
